Velox--
Sharp eyes--have you reported it to ebay yet?
Perhaps I am dense but motivates fraudulent sellers to run ads like these? Is anyone really dumb enough to send $13+K dollars without some proof that the car exists, that there is a title, etc? AS with the BN1 that was relisted, what am I missing?
FWIW I purchased a BN7 for my wife off of ebay sight-unseen several years back--see her article in this month's "Healey Marque" for some pictures of it (and her).
I had the car inspected by two different parties before I cut the final price so I knew that it actually existed and had a pretty good clue as to its condition. I also had the signed, notarized title in my hands before I sent the seller a 20% deposit and did not pay him the rest of the purchase price until he shipped me the car--the deal being that I would either accept it and pay him within three days or send it back at my expense. The car arrived in Maryland from Florida in an enclosed transporter, I drove it and paid him and have never regretted the purchase.
No doubt this was not the typical ebay deal and probably not many sellers were as motivated or trusting as was mine, but in any case everyone went away happy.
