To counter the more "intellectual" conversations on The Pub: Animaniacs is now on Netflix!

This is a wonderful cartoon, produced by Steven Spielberg, with great music. (Every episode has at least one original score, at Mr. Spielberg's direction.) The show reminds me of what Saturday morning cartoons once were - and should be (in my "mature" opinion). They are silly and littered with intelligent innuendos for the enjoyment of grow-up viewers. (Like watching Bugs Bunny as an adult vs. as a child... there is so much more to the show than I realized growing up!)

Highly recommended for those who have Netflix and like to tap their toes to silly songs. (I recommend using subtitles as my ears are not quite fast enough to keep up with the lyrics!)

Thanks for this! I'd never heard of Animaniacs until now. Found it on YouTube and wow - great memories of the 1940s Warner Brothers cartoons I watched as a kid. Really fun stuff - with a 21st century touch.

"with a 21st century touch"

More of a late 20th century touch, it ran in the 90s. And yes it was a fun show that really had a good Looney Tunes kinda vibe about it.

Mike, Thanks for telling us about this, I'll have to add it to my watch list. By the way Popeye has always been one of my favorite cartoons, at least the old Fleischer ones.

They did videos for a couple of "They Might Be Giants" songs. Istanbul and Triangle Man. Both were excellent. Of course Pinky and The Brain were always some of my favorites.
Point! Narf!
