What is on the inside of the gas tank when it is new? Does the manufacture coat it with anything.

Yep I know about PORs but then maybe a good boiling out would do the trick if there were no weak or rust holes? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif
 
Actually, I think nothing when new...I have mine boiled & then lined with some knod of liquid they pour in & slosh around & then it hardens
 
i would imagine that the only thing on them is what ever is left of the preservative coating that comes on the raw stock.
