I'm not kidding. The above are the *featured* articles on the front page. Yeesh - with all the good things people do, and the incredible need of young folks to feel appreciated for taking positive actions ...

Let's see - if I want to be famous and get on the front page, all I have to do is ...

It's a sad commentary that bad news sells.......and people love to read about scandals and bad behaviour.

Hence the booming "celebrity" business in print and on TV.

Let's face it, if some of these celebrities just lived normal lives like the rest of us, there would be no such thing as the papparazzi.

"Jay Leno goes for a drive in one of his cars! Exclusive pictures of him changing his oil!"

Not exactly front page of the Enquirer material is it? People like him, famous or not, who just do normal "stuff" are not newsworthy.

Likewise if a newspaper were to print anything positive on the front page they would never sell any copies.......

Nobody ever lost money by overestimating the poor taste of the general public.

Tom...what was the DILBERT comic!!!
Somedays ya gotta just look at the bright sides!!!

I found I was only looking forward to the crossword puzzles every day and not even reading the rest of the local paper (@ over $200/yr.!!)so I cancelled my subscription!!

No kidding Mike! Now go to Webster.com and get daily crosswords for free! We all know you, like the rest of us, are here too much as it is!! LOL

I've never subscribed to the paper. I occasionally read the classified (from a paper someone else bought). I usually read a few blurbs of news on the internet at least 2 days before it's ever in the paper anyway.

Our suscription to the local rag ran out in February, they finally quit delivering it about two weeks ago and I don't miss having to throw away all that paper every week.
I prefer to get my news via the computer anyway.

Now if I could Opt-out of the junk-mail/useless-2-inch-thick-stack-of-coupons that come in the mail every thursday, I'd be set.
