What's beyond insane? About 30 seconds into this video, it starts to look like the pod race in Star Wars.

WOW! watching the video I came to several conclusions
1. it is obvious that the guy had flown this home brew ultralight a nunber of times before filming the video.
2. that he is a very accomplished pilot!
3. he has complete trust in the integrety of the vehicle.
4. yep, he is one insane son of a gun! Without a doubt!
No parachute even sheeeeesh!
 
That's not a plane, it's an flying go-kart! That plane is not much bigger than some 1/4 scale RC planes......
 
That little Cricket is supposed to be pretty safe. It'll maintain altitude on one engine.

I think almost everyone has seen Brit-car enthusiast and ex-F1 racer, Alain de Cadent's ~Spitfire Flyby~ .
If not, turn down volume if there are kids in room (very bad language).


This Russian (MIL?) ~Flyby~ is pretty good too

Best is this Sukhoj ~Trick~ (I think in Hungary).
 
I'm told they're not supposed to, but West Coast USAF fighter pilots DO like to fly the valleys in the high Sierra. Once every few years, someone miscalculates, incurring the inevitably fatal and expensive result.

Once, when hiking at about 8500 feet, we were walking down a valley that T-ed into another, about a half mile away. I happened to be looking at the T when something flashed across the end of the valley, <span style="font-style: italic">well</span> below the peaks. I had more than enough time to think WTF??? as sound travels much slower at that elevation. It was quite the roar when it did get to us, though...

I'll say. They used to fly up the Severn Valley, near my parents' home, at zero-plus-a-bit feet on their way up to North Wales. Maybe they still do?

Quite true, you have me looking for the picture of the RAF F-4 doing a flyby in between two hangars.
 
Years ago, during naval exercises off California, some A-4's flew by the ship on the deck, pretty awesome. Sadly, a couple of hours later, we were tasked with search and rescue when one flew into the sea. We only found bits and pieces of plane and pilot.
