And now Gene Hackman

No cause given but it's reported that Gene Hackman, his wife and their dog have been found deceased in their New Mexico home. No foul play suspected. I'd think perhaps them carbon monoxide or something like that might be what would take all of them.

Great talent lost. Always one of the very best.

I'm thinking you're right about the CO.

CO was my first thought once I heard about the dog. Before that I did wonder about a pact ?
Although with a pact - I presume he wouldn't have been found in the mudroom and she on the bathroom floor. (near a space heater)

More details have been released. They are apparently now treating it as "suspicious."

They apparently had been dead for a while and both were partly mummified. They were in different rooms. She was on the floor in a bathroom with pills spilled all over the floor.

Yea, the news guys say they were both "partially mummified" So sound like gone for some time. Wonder how no one noticed them not doing whatever stuff they would normally do outside the house, like grocery shopping.

I just read that the last "event" recorded on his pacemaker was Feb 17th. Not sure how or where "events" are recorded, but that might be a clue as to when he died.

Seen a report today. The wife died from a virus. He was unaware due to advanced Alzheimer's then he suffered a heart attack a week later. Dog ha a vet procedure before the wife died and was still in the cage.
Really sad way for there lives to end.
Very sad indeed.

I'm sure with the dementia well advanced they say, he probably saw her lying there as he wandered the house, but couldn't understand she was gone. It's one of those really terrible things that sometimes happens. I'm a bit surprised his wife didn't have someone stop in every day or two to help handle the load as he declined.

Does anyone else remember his role in "Young Frankenstein"?
He played the old blind man who "shares" his soup with the monster.
