I wuz in my teens by the time that aired. Thought it a pile of, um... thought it just SILLY.

Who'd a thunk "Supermarionation" would be pulled outta he closet again as a vehicle for "Team America" and actually make some money.

doc, i never knew it was in color!, had ta watch it in black en white, the old man wanted ta be sure they perfected color t.v. and didnt buy one till like 1980. :smirk:

Just th' reverse with my Old Man. We had a big RCA color TV before NBC was broadcasting "In Living Color"... learned to align the three "guns" with a bar generator. First color broadcast of Disney & Bonanza saw our house FULL of relatives and neighbors, all "Oooh-ing and Ahh-ing".

He also built 500W/channel stereo amps. Pushed thru Altec Lansing "Voice of the Theatre" speakers... no "kits" either. All from components.

My childhood was weird and wonderful, to say the least.

I was a Heathkit prodigy... I still have a digital Heathkit clock that I built 38 years ago in my living room just purring away... those were the good old days for me.

I have a Heathkit R/C car I found at a yard sale or swap meet forever ago.The original body bore a strong resemblance to a GT40

I bought a Heathkit TV at a garage sale in the late 80's. It must have been made of cast iron as it must have been 600 pounds. Someone broke in the place and stole all my stuff, except for the TV. They got it have way across the living room before they gave up and left it there.

I shoulda shown you the power and pre amps he built. They're on the 'desk' inna garage behind the computer monitor. He even bent the sheet aluminum chassis to support the transformers and vacuum tubes. All circuitry is underneath, hand wired. I consider it art.

You are right doc.... doing wireing right is indeed a work of art. It's funny the things that we hang onto to remind us of our parents.

Now I understand how you're so far ahead of the curve doc. I always wondered.

Fer cryin' out loud, Docs got a nuther new avatar...looks like a cut-away for over head cams...Alfas I suppose...
