I had a lot of fun illustrating this TR3 built up by Racetorations in the UK for Rick Rone. From the widened fenders to the massive air dam, this Triumph looks ready go just standing still. What appeals to me most though is the near perfect blend of race car and street car. Masterfully done. Drawing all of the special bodywork was a bit of a challenge, especially in the line art, but I enjoyed giving my perspective skills a workout. Rick helped a ton by being able to supply some quality photography as well as being an active participant in the illustration by answering my many questions about the details. The TR3 is definitely a one-of-a-kind.

A few of the features include:
• Fuel injection (custom made injectors)
• AP disc brakes on all four corners
• Full roll cage
• Great looking body work
• Speed screens
• Custom interior including the seats, door panels, and dash

While I love executing my regular illustrations, I really enjoy these forays into some of the amazing variations that are out there. As real cars, they may not be everyone's cup of tea but as illustrations they present interesting challenges that push me to look at new ways to help refine my techniques...

Have a race car you'd like to commemorate?
Drop me a line and let me know what you have. If it's based on one of the British cars I've already drawn chances are good I can illustrate your special ride.
