just got back from the hospital yesterday after having my rt knee replaced on Tues, The morphine pump was great for 3 days and now i am on tylenol 3. Have started physio already and boy is it painful. they had me up and moving the same evening as surgery. 34 staples and they come out next week. Pill time now and bed, goodnight all.

Keep at the PT Will. You'll be dancin' th' cha-cha by the end of August! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

We replace knees, hips, shoulders, finger joints, you name it...every day. It's getting to be pretty routine (unless it is your joint of course). Do the physical therapy 100% and you'll do well.

Yep, agree. Lots of PT. Took me about 6 months to get to 100 percent.

& they say knees are the worst ones to replace...so, its sounds as though you're well on your way to recovery....

wewillie, yep thats the best advice stay with the p.t. but the tylenol 3? your doctor is a sadist! im fixin to get my right knee to the m.r.i. next week might end up in the same wheel chair as you, im not looking foward to it i had this knee worked on in 1989 i dont want to hear the doc say "ya gunna have ta change it out" - tylenol 3, youve got to be kidding! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif - good luck wewillie dont over do it.

Ah yes the morphine pump; I am very familiar with that device /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif. I used to be a skier; tore my ACL and MCL in early 90s. Had an autograph to fix it. Tore that about 2 years later and had an cadaver graph (alograph?) put in and the medial meniscus removed. It held for a few years and then I ripped that too. I've determined that God did not intend for me to have an ACL in my knee. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Knees are no fun when they don't work.

thanks for the support guys, tylenol 3 because i dont want to use oxy-coton, When i asked hi after what it was like in there he told be it was the nicest polish on a bone that he had ever seen lol. Woke up during surgery and all i remember was a cover over me and someone hammering what sounded like a spike, lasted about 5 whacks and then i was gone again but never felt a thing

Anthony,
Tylenol 3 contains 30 mg of Codeine. Lot more effective than plain Tylenol.

I wish you & Willie both the best on your knees.
D

also didn't want percoset? as it is hard on the stomach

After about two days of Tylenol III I can take no more of it, the codeine does not agree with me. Guess I really didn't need anything after a couple of days.
