This was may day - please feel sorry for me:
Took Agatha to see her friendly mechanic to have her rear wheel bearings replaced. She ran well all the way home and was delighted to get out of heat and into her garage. While in town I had breakfast with a dear friend and a good time was had by all. He's got a Tri-carb Healey and a to die for E type Jag.
These were my two positives.
Now on to the negatives: Went out to the garage to take the trash and I noticed that Agatha was listing to the right. Good reason for this - Agatha has a right front tire flatter than a pancake. I jacked her up enough to relieve the pressure on the rim and it will just have to wait until husbamd Doug comes home, which should be Sunday.
Fed the cats and Toby the dog their dinner and was walking out into the hallway to let Toby out thru the garage and I squished under my feet. I knew instantly we had a blumbing problem. I finally determined where the leak was by a process of elimination - I.e. no evidence of water running anywhere. This meant it was either the swamp cooler line or the recycle pump. Followed the lines to the recycle pump and yes, it was leaking like a sieve at the connection from the water heater to the pump! I shut the lines down, unplugged the pump and dialed my plumber. $141.77 later it is now fixed. Unfortunately I had to pay their after hours rate, fortunately it only took about a 1/2 hour. I've taken 2 gallons of water out of the carpet and will suck whatever I can out tomorrow.
I'm tired and hungry as I haven't eaten since breakfast and I'm a tad torqued! It seems like all my problems occur when husband Doug is not here, but then there is a 50/50 chance of that happening!
So folks, I hope your day was better than mine.
Had to vent and who better to vent on?
I am now going to heat up some leftover pizza - then take a relaxing bath, put on my pj's and veg in front of the television.

Hey Guest!

Good Morning. Today is a new day and I resolve to make it happy. I'm thinking about Agatha's flat tire and how I can handle this. I've no problem taking it to the local tire shop to get it fixed except for the fact I can't get the lug nuts off as I've not got enough oomph to do it. Perhaps I'll call one of my neighbors and ask if they could just take the tire off. Then there's the problem of putting the tire back on... Maybe I'll just forget it for now. Only problem is I was looking forward to my morning run to the local coffee shop. I could take the daily driver but it's really not about the coffee.
Hmmmm, if only one of my Sub Hubs could help work on my Spider  --Monica
It's a great day and yesterday was grand! I called our local garage and they made a house call (twice - one to get the tire and fix it and one to put the tire back on). What was I thinking, all I had to do was take the tire off after using the soft hammer on the knock-off - dah! Obviously I wasn't - felt pretty stupid. Not to be undaunted I drove Agatha back to the garage and had the tires rotated and balanced. Yesterday was found yours truly taking Agatha and depositing trash at the transfer station, going out for breakfast, then a ride to Madrid and back to town for a stop at the local coffee shop. Left at 8:30 AM and got back a little before 1:00 PM. A good time was had by all! Today will find me doing mundane errands and hopefully picking up Onslow after over a week in the garage so that all will be right with vehicles in our life. I still need to shampoo the hall carpet and it's almost dry enough to do that and husband will be home on Sunday and coming home to a well ordered garage/home. HELP! I want a job so husband can stay home.
