The TV series currently on H2 (History channel) is a show I watch fairly regularly. I think that a lot of the conclusions these guys make are based more on belief than any real proof, but the historical aspects are fascinating. I just found out that the Great Pyramid in Egypt actually has eight sides (may be old news for a bunch of you, but I lead a sheltered life). Even after 4000 or so years, it reveals itself from the air only on the spring and autumn equinoxes. This photo was shot in 1940.

Nanu Nanu

Kinda sad, though, that the History Channel is THAT hard up for stuff (and the Science Channel occasionally does this too). :grumpy:

Even history programs they run in many cases aren't that well researched or accurate, so why not "little green men did it"...

They used to have some pretty decent things on the air. Sadly that was years ago, now they just churn out "reality" shows like every other station.

AND, 50% of the programing is commercials that are repetitive over and over and over! If I could buy a recorder that would automatically record and eliminate all commercials, I'd buy one in a flash! Even the pay channels are displaying junk. TV, best sleeping pill out there! I read more books now than I ever did!

hmmm - maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have 500+ channels showing mostly useless, clueless, and/or questionable content 24/7, supported by advertisements that are useless, clueless, and questionable.

Other than cable companies saying "You can have over 500 channels of exciting programs for only $200/month!"

Just saying ...

The worst part about having so much junk available is those who know nothing about a subject tend to take what they see as gospel so poor information spreads.

Yep.

I watched another show last night about the pyramids. This from "main stream" Egyptologists. I gotta say, their theories are fairly lame also. Why not say "we just don't know". I think that is a perfectly acceptable answer. I guess after spending 20 years and a lot of grant money, they feel like they have to come to some sort of conclusion.

Your cat looks happy Don.

Are you in communication with the mother ship?
