Only my humble opinion. Does he not know who owns the garage?
In mid 1961, I was forced to get rid on my 1960 Bugeye which I purchased new. The given reason was "I am having twins". Fast forward--5 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way, I now have 2 Bugeyes. One I bought in pieces (which I am rebuilding) and the other in a little better shape (and running) than the one he has for sale. How long will it take for him to wake up? It to me 40-50 years.
 
Hey I want a Bugeye but have to settle for a BE Bonnet on my '68 Sprite. Hey at least it's still a Sprite.

Paul did you ever get your fiberglass bonnet issues resolved with fit? I've decided to pull the bonnet, elongate the mounting holes in the bonnet so I can raise 1/4 to 1/2" in the front. That should resolve my radiator clearance issues and get the rear level at the back of the bonnet. A Saturday morning project for me.
 
Jim, I did get my bonnet to fit. I dug out my radiator, installed it for a fit check and am in the process of installing my DZUS fasteners. One side fits just fine and I should get to the other on the weekend. Slow for sure as work, yard work family and just resting gt in the way.
Check the fit along the lower edges of the bonnet in relation to the side rails.
 
That's my issue, need to get the ftont up so fit along side rails and back of bonnet is correct. IT touches right behind the front wheel and gap grows to 1/2" plus at the back of the side rail. I don't need to tweak it much but just a little. That's why I figure I may be able to "hog out" the holes on the bonnet with my dremel tool so I can raise the bonent up to get sides level. Just tweaks at this point. Front tilt brackets don't really have enough material to "hog out" those asreas without weakening the front tilt bracket. Lots of careful finish and measuring of clearances as you have discovered. No wonder they went away from the BE Bonnet. Fit and finish tolerances were pretty exact, especially with front tilt. Much easier with Spridget front end.
