an up-date from a fellow LBC guy - new non LBC purchase to share

Been awhile since I have checked in, been having a decent season with both Midget's (considering the deplorable summer weather up here), a couple weeks ago I discovered a broken leaf on my 67 so I had to do my winter project earlier than planned  All good now, 74 has been running well since changing the throttle plates, so much nicer when it idles.. **** poppets...

You know how everyone has their "dream car" ? well although I love the Midget's I have had a special spot in my soul reserved for an old hot rod Model A Ford since I was a young kid... instead of retyping I will just share a link to a story about me & my dream car.

Hope you enjoy

Wow.

I've been having a lousy work day, and that story really made me smile (and maybe a trifle misty as well). That's a very special car, hope you really enjoy it.

Edit: I just signed up to that forum so I can follow along. Couldn't be happier for you, that's a once in a lifetime find for a car guy/gal.

Ah. An 8BA. Wonderful! MUCH more reliable than a 59AB. Better oiling, better water pumps, NO full-floating bearings, NO split guides and mushroom stems, normal everyday thermostats (be very careful...you need to glue them into the outlet housings, then glue the gaskets on FIRST...if the t-stats drop out of the recess, you'll snap the ears off.
Pretty sure the dash rebuild eliminated the fuel tank....especially with a pump on the flattie. Not a bad job. One helluva coolant expansion tank hung in there.

Aw! A real reet short! So sweet, love that it's not chopped. Very nice details, it was really done well. You put it on the best forum for it, the HAMB guys are awesome. Congrats, I'm watching that thread.

Lovely Jer, great to see everyone happy! IIRC Your wife bought a Model T not too long ago - do you still have it too? Are there any classic cars in the Soo you don't own?

Great story! I will follow it!

(I'm going to be a bit late for work after reading from your link above.....and well worth it!) :encouragement:

Great to here from you Jer and a great story. The first plastic kit i put together when about 10 was an old school hot rod telephone booth T. Always wanted to build a real one.

Kurt.

ha ha - Yes wife still owns & enjoy's the Model T, I don't own all the classics in the Soo, but I'm working on it ;-) Actually I have faced reality & have my 1959 Triumph TR3A projects up for sale, have to face the fact that I won't be getting to rebuilding them anytime soon...

Here is my daughter in the wife's Model T earlier this summer.

Agree, change things for safety to what the original builder had available if it shows, Hidden stuff, go for it, 3 5/8 inch alum. three ring pistons would be great, along with a merc, 3 5/8 crank and a real isky cam. LOL Oh have the heads shaved as well. Wheee. now you got to rejet the carb to handle it. However a pair of those stronberg 97s would work well and be in keeping.
