"On this day in 1969, the Woodstock Music and Art Fair opened in New York. More than 460,000 people attended the three day festival, which would become a watershed event in American music and culture."

I was a senior at TCU back then. What memories this brings back.

My brother was there..... unfortunately I missed out since I had to be at college for the start of my freshman year.

August '69 I was an entering sophomore at LSU. After Woodstock, several of the bands who played there went to Prairieville, LA for the "New Orleans Pop Festival", along with a bunch of others. Unfortunately, I was working my summer job (without which I wouldn't have been able to go to LSU...) and couldn't attend. Big bummer!

Pretty impressive list of performers:

Between freshman and sophomore college years, had a summer job. Friends went, reported back that it was a muddy mess. Went to Watkins Glen for the F-1 in October instead. A much better muddy mess!!
