on Hwy 11 just south of Gravenhurst. No time for a pic - very pretty, all white and I have NEVER seen one driving much less on a highway.

Probably the same guy who owns this one...

A collector in Orillia owns two of them, a white one and also this one pictured, and I believe they both swim too...

And here is website... https://www.amphicar.ca/amphicars.html

Correction... He has at least two of them...

I suspect you are right - there can't be many - cool that you knew this, thanks!

Many years ago as a young lad I remember seeing one drive into a lake up in Vermont. So cool!

I've met Gord before (the owner of the Amphicar JP spotted) and have seen some of his collection at shows (his '53 Hudson is gorgeous!),

I lived close to Orillia for about three years but unfortunately never got to see or experience his Amphicar's in the water, I missed the wrong Micro North meet...

JP...I'm not liking you very much right now.. :madder:..you were up near Gravenhurst.. :cryin:..dagnabitall! LoL What a beautiful part of the planet!

Next time you're up that way, stop at Webers for me and have a double, ok?!

Happy to. sadly the trip was all business so no time to enjoy except the view through my car window. stinking hot too, even there.

...and they have Triumph engines too!
I've heard that. Having recently rebuilt one of those over-400# beasts, it seem a ridiculous choice to put in something you want to float on water.

Ahh... so.
That makes more sense than what I was thinking -- that it had the TRactor 4.

Of all things!

I go to my local garden shed distributor today (we're getting a new shed delivered so my toys don't have to share thier garages with lawn mowers, weed-wackers,etc.)

Anyway, in the house next to the shed place is an Amphicar! It's under a cover, but what else has *that* shape and two little props sticking out the back?

I'll try to snap a shot of it soon.

By the way, the Amphicar/Triumph engine is attached to a VW trans with a custom adapter built by Amphicar. Weird.
