Just watched it on Paramount + - "The Day the Music Died". Great story! If you don't have Paramount +, you may be able to watch here:
 
"This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated." Probably a copyright violation.
 
It always irritated me that he would never explain the references
of the words in that song.Most people figured it out,but would be
nice to hear it from the writer/singer himself.

Figured it'd get pulled. Well, it's still on Paramount +.

He explained much of it in the documentary - many of the references were not what most people thought.
