So Dave - how was the grand opening Saturday?

Tom,
It was exciting. Kids really enjoyed the interactive displays such as the Mack Truck driving simulator and the hydrogen fueling station. It was fun to see which vehicles were the attractions to different people, and the car show by various groups in the parking lot drew extra interest with AACA cars, old school rods, and tuner cars parked side by side.

I did learn from the curator that GM had donated as many as 40 EV1 cars to museums after removing the drive train completely. The EV1 currently at AOW is on loan from the Henry Ford museum.

I also saw many friends from various points of my life, and I met a number of interesting new friends. I did finally meet a correspondent from the Racing History list on Yahoo who sells DVD's of vintage auto racing, including Dorney Park and the Fairgrounds from Allentown. I will definitely need to make a few purchases from his collection.

The museum definitely could be a success if run correctly, and I expect that it will succeed. If anyone is coming in to visit in the future, let me know so I can try to be there to go through with you.

Sounds great.

I'll keep in touch...we'll almost surely get there this Summer.
