AMCO part numbers...

Does anyone know, or have a source for, old AMCO part numbers?

There is currently a white top for an early 3000 on eBay listed as AMCO NOS. The auction does not state if it's for a two or four seater.

I don't want a white top, but it got me to thinking...

When I first got my car back in the 80s it had an AMCO top. I have a great top on the car now, but as the wood bow is new (re-manufactured), it can be tough getting it on. I also have since acquired a spare wood bow, latches, etc. and would like to get a spare top fitted. I can't decide between red and black (car is red, and while black is original, I've always liked the look of red on red), but thought if the right NOS part came along I'd like to get it - and that's where this auction comes to play.

The seller says he might have a black one (haven't asked about red), but he knows little about the cars and goes off the part numbers. So all this was said to just ask:

Does anyone know the old AMCO part numbers for a black and/or red top to fit a BT7?

Thanks!

bt7tricarb, sorry i dont have those numbers but 2 years ago i bought a n.o.s. amco top for $100.00 so they can be got at a reasonable price, but i dont know how that white top could fit a bt-7 and a 1963 bj-7, remember 63 we got roll up windows, best to give this seller a call. :savewave:

The 4 seaters BN4 and BT7 1957 thru 1963 used 1152 black or 1153 white

The 2 seaters BN7 nad BN7 1957 thru 1963 used 1182 black or 1183 white

The BJ7 with rollup were 1172 black or 1173 white

Thanks Anthony7777

I thought of the '63 = roll-up windows thing, but thought this was also a cross-over year, so just kind of figured AMCO would have still included it on the box. Good point, though, that I need to clarify.

I'd love to get a NOS top and have it stretched to fit. The rear windows and just overall feel of my current top is not nearly as thick/heavy as the older top.

Thanks so much Peter! I take it, then, AMCO never made a red top?

You're very welcome.

I hesitate to say "never", but I was selling their product in the very early 70's, and catalogues I have that are older than that indicate "specify black or white".
