A friend claims he saw an aluminum bodied TR3 in a co workers garage a few years ago. It had the fender skirts and aluminum tonneau cover. I'm a little sceptical about this as the only one I've ever seen was in a TR book and it was a one off protype or land speed record car? Is it possible that some PO has tried to duplicate the look of that model? Anyone heard of more than one aluminum bodied TR3?

Darryl Uprichard of TR Racetorations in England makes and sells body panels which he makes out of aluminium for the sidescreen TR cars. I have seen one at a car show in England, still un-painted. The bulkhead (firewall) is the only part of the tub which is steel. They are available but they cost a fortune. They are mostly bought and used by those who want them for racing.
