Aluminum Head ..stud question

OK, I may have found a slightly used aluminum head for my 1275 Midget. This engine is stock. Do I need to install the two extra studs, or can I just go with the original nine. I'm trying to get this engine back together and running with minimal cost. I only need it to hold together long enough for me to sort out a megasquirt system for it. The only reason I'm thinking of an aluminum head is that this one isn't much more money than having my current head reworked.

The only references I could find was regarding the original style head, but not the aluminum one. Did you find something in the archives?
 
My Longman GT7 cast iron head has the 11 holes and I was told
there was no need to add the extra studs. They "look" neater
with all the studs and that's how mine is set up. It's NOT aluminum but I can't believe that would make a difference
as far as needing the extra studs. I'm running 10-1 compression.
I'm no expert....just that's what I've been told.
 
I can't speak to the necessity of doing so but my aluminum head was installed with 11 studs in lieu of 9. One consideration, should the extra studs prove to be optional, is that their inclusion will necessitate modifying the valve cover so that it can sit flush on the head.
