It's just $180. Seems like the way to go since mine is bent and won't stay straight no matter what we do. So, that brings up two questions for you experts: 1) will the aluminum face plate hold the tensioner pin tightly enough? If that thing fell out at 3000 rpms, I imagine I'd tear the entire front of my engine off; and 2) given the typical wear of the generator bolting hole in the face plate of a stock steel plate, am I likely to see the aluminum one wear the mounting hole oblong in no time? (I'm referring to where the generator "pedestal bolt" fixes to the front plate)

Thanks all.

I've bought a couple of plates from Kenny and they are of excellent quality. I helped him develop a conversion plate for another project and it fit perfectly. You may want to get in touch and see if he has what you need or can make it.

Most likely they are reselling the ones made by ARE https://www.the-vintage-racer.com/index.php/categoryhome/engine-components/product/41-afp-tr4

I don't have any personal experience with the plates, but Joe & his son go racing with the components that ARE sells and I know they try to "Never be beaten by equipment".

The generator mounting extension should be fine, as long as you keep the extension tight. Use a new nyloc nut. The book doesn't seem to give a torque for it, but I believe it should be at least 70 ftlb.

The bolt through the generator into the extension only takes 17 ftlb, but it is important to tighten it to spec _after_ any adjustment to the belt tension. Easy to forget. I also use a heavy "setup" washer between the lock washer and generator end plate, which seems to help keep the joint tight (and also prevents the lock washer from digging into the soft aluminum).
