Aluminum Cylinder Head

At some point I am going to have to replace my cylinder head. It has a small crack above the number 2 spark plug and oozes a bit of anti freeze. I always wondered if the aluminum head would be a good choice for the MGB. I remember the TR7 I had required constant checking of the head bolts to avoid a blown head gasket. Would an aluminum head on my MGB also require constant monitoring of the torque on the head bolts?

I'm not a huge fan of the aluminum MGB heads, I think the stock ports are not as good as the cast iron heads, but for a late model MGB that came with a CAMM1106 head like your car finding a used head is becoming hard to come, by, but you do know Moss will sell you a brand new County Camm1106 cast iron head for the same price as the Ebay guys will sell you the aluminum head, I wrked with one of thes and can tell your first hand, I rather have it than the aluminum head, cast iron is better material for a cylinder head in my opinion, if you getting ready to drop a grand on a new head look at the cast iron new head, Moss or any vendor who carries Moss parts can get it for you.

OH, here's a few pics of a new County Cam1106 head, I checked it over good, I had heard all kinds of myths by the experts about these heads, not having the same ccs in the combustion chamber and such, all BS, this in my opion the best choice for a let model MGB when it comes to head replacment. they come complete new valves, new springs, new everyhting, even paint factory black, ready to bolt on.

Here's picture of the CC volume on the new County head, and right now with Moss' sale you can another 18% off, so that drop the head down into the lower $800 range, not a bad deal really.
