my alternator appears like it used to have 2 brown wires ....i dont know as i dont see a second wire dangling anywhere...
my red light gets brighter as i rev the engine...thought it might be related....senior member zimmy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jimmy, you should have a big brown wire running from the + terminal on the alternator to the starter solenoid, and a small brown wire running from the Batt. terminal on the alternator, to the same terminal on the solenoid. The third wire should be brown and yellow, and goes to the red light.
Also check the belt for proper tension. Sometimes a loose belt will slip under increased RPM, and cause the charge light to get brighter.
