I have a 1980 MGB with no A/C and need to replace the two belts. Obviously it needs an alternator belt, but the other one seems to be attached to what I am guessing to be a smog/emission pump of some sort?
Neither attach to the fan as they are electronic from what I can tell.
So does anyone know the stock/OEM numbers for the two belts. There is no local dealer I could find to ask, and places like Autozone, Napa, etc. say they need the number to cross reference them. Of course if any of you have the name/numbers of aftermarket belts that would fit my car, that would be great also.
If the one belt is only for the smog pump(assuming that is what it is), is it really needed, or should I just take it off? We have no emission testing in Florida.
Lastly, I have changed many a belt on different cars over the years, but is there anything special I will need to do to change these?
