There will always be those who criticise doing that sort of thing but for me if you own it, do what you want. However, Tigerizing an Alpine, to do it right that is, isn't as easy as dropping another engine in it. If you really want to go that route I suggest you examine a Tiger, either at a show or through a local person and get an idea of the changes needed before committing.
 
No. Again, you own it. Don't sell it as a "Tiger" (fraud) and you'll be fine. Talk to Chuck Ingram to find out what you're in for before beginning.
 
Is it Original or "original looking" ? If it's Original keep it, there's plenty of other donors to clone.

About 10 years ago I had a rust free, three cylinder, 65 Alpine and a totally clapped out 65 Tiger sitting side by side in my driveway. Even with a 100% donor available converting the Alpine was waaaaay beyond my capabilities. I am a decent amateur mechanic but no welder. Think twice or double check your checkbook. Bob

I would be quite willing to advise anyone contemplating an Alpine V8 conversion.True there is much more than dropping a V8 into a early chevy or ford.
 
Peter: Having gone through paying someone to convert an Alpine to Ford V8 power, I strongly discourage this. I understand that V6 Joe sells an excellent kit for converting to 2.8-liter V6 power. If I had it to do over again, this is the route I'd go. If you are bound and determined to do a Tigerization, PM me and I'll give you the phone number of the guy who did the work on mine.
