Many, many years ago I threw money in to the shop I worked for to buy an old Bishman Permalign system.
The owner had this mental issue that came upon him that he did not have to pay taxes. So, he got closed down.
The agreement was he paid me back..he never did, so I snagged the magnetic camber/caster gauge and have had it stuck to the side of my toolbox for 25-30 years now.

Today, I pulled it off to check camber on the Jag.

Had to clean off 1/4" of dust, but it is all there and intact.
What I don't know (or remember) is what the camber presets are for, unless you crank it in (rotate the magnet) to the spec and set for zero bubble. I have it on "zero" mark now (outside of presets) and I am 1 + on left, 1/2 + on right, which is 1/2+ with + or - 1/2, so I am good enough...I think.

I am dealing with a pull to the right that is driving me nutz. Not bad, just gotta hold the wheel to the left a bit.
I thought it might have been set up for left side of road caster, so I manually shifted a handful of positive into right wheel, pulled a handful out of left wheel, and I think it is a bit better, but I only have one shim left...think I will reset them back a bit.

Had a really bad lower ball joint, fixed that, no change at all, did both lowers.
So far, I cannot find anything loose anywhere.
Camber readings tell me it isn't a sprung subframe. Been this way for a long time. Swapped wheels/tyres, no change, new shocks last year. Tyre pressure correct and equal.

Tell me I am reading the preset stuff right.

Thanks.

Put the left wheel caster back towards + near where it was (all annotated). No change. All suspension bits seem fine, no slop when squeezed with channel locks.
Wheel bearing adjustment within .005" end float.
To give you an idea...on the freeway at 60, right hand sweeper, the car will hold that with no hands, so it isn't BAD, just annoying.

I had the rear springs back out to swap them and grease them (new springs couple of months ago) to eliminate any issues there. There is a slight offset in the rear axle...maybe 1/4" to one side. But now with the rear higher with new non-flat springs, pull is the same, no change.
Checked tie rod ends, idler, etc...nothing loose.
Tomorrow going to adjust the track rod to get the rear exact to frame and see. It's on the list of things to do.
