OK, OK, the name is only the name - Duetsch Marque Rally. All makes, models, skills and ages of both cars and operators are invited and welcome to SWMS events.

For those who know SWMS, I shouldn't have to push you to speed the weekend away. For those who don't know our program, we are New Mexico's premier road race club. No one else hosts 4 to 5 events each year in NM. No one else offers a drivers school at almost every event. No one else allows street cars in a lapping group with the safety standards SWMS provides.

Our events are held at Sandia Motor Speedway, top of 9 mile hill West of ABQ and south a couple miles. Sandia has a fine facility with a 32' wide 1.6+ mile 14 turn road course. It will challenge the most experienced racers, it may intimidate the neophites amongst us. Darn near everyone leaves with a wide smile.

Register early if you are new. We require new drivers to attend our drivers school (no extra charge). April & May saw us at the max class size of about 12-13 students.

Students and experienced street car lappers will enjoy about an hour a day on track. When was the last time you were able to spend 1 houor going full tilt in your beast? Lets do the math...60 minutes = 35 laps = 490 turns = 490 mini drag races = 490 brake fade tests = 490 brain fade opportunities = fun, fun fun...

Bring your sober self (no drinking Friday night), lots of sun screen, H2O, cap or hat, long sleeve shirt, shoes, gloves, long pants, and a helmet (anything other than WW2). Be ready to spend class time, track time, class time, track time, class time, track time. We've had jet jockeys take our class and state that the intensity level is similar to jet school. You will learn more about yourself and your wheels than you thought possible.

Just want to watch, why not work a corner, timing & scoring? Spectators, sponsors, workers, car show...ers are all invited and welcome to SWMS events. Get your friends together and enjoy the fun at Sandia!

Check out SWMS web site in my sig file. Email or call me with questions.

Just a brief update, late year this event was our largest local road race with about 50+ entrants. Early registration is well above 30 for this upcoming fun filled weekend. Drivers school size is limited to about 12-13 students - early registration assures you of being able to join that skill building day. School occurs on Saturday only. Class is well over 50% full so enroll today!

Saturday events start a little early to facilitate clearing the paddock early for the Sat. Roundies. We'll initiate activities about 7:30 AM with the drivers meeting. Plan to get there early - 6-6:30 AM to set up, unload, and tech.
