If are in or around Albuquerque, NM, the next driver school and road race is happening soon. The Duesche Marque VI is the 6th annual event chaired by Russ Kelso, our chief driving instructor and shoe of one very quick 914.
The https://www.proautosports.com group from Phoenix is joining us with 15 to 30 entrants. That will make for a big event for our club's normal 50 car fields.
We invite students, lappers, racers, workers, sponsors, and spectators. Did I mention benfactors?
SWMS puts on good events at Sandia's 1.6 mile, 14 turn road course. BTW, that is a busy little track. Aerial photos at either the club or track web site.
Driver school is really a high performance driving experience as we do not do practice starts etc. That is because you can bring your own personal or hertz rental street vette or other ride and join us in the school and lapping group. Rules and details at the clubs web site.
If you drive from Colorado and want a night in Taos before and/or after the race weekende, let me know via email to indianhills(at)newmex.com. We'll sharpen the pencil and discount our normal rates by 25% or so at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza.
If you've wondered about road racing, the best way to know if it's for you is to work a few events. All clubs almost always need more course marshals, tech inspectors, pit & grid traffic people, etc. The days are long and hot (or cold or wet or windy) but great fun with exceptional people. Help your club wherever that is!
