When I was a kid living in Germany, a friend an me had a Mad Magazine fan club.

Sad to hear about Al Jaffee. Kids today are missing out on Mad Magazine. Spy vs Spy was a favorite.

Don't think they folded him but they may have a problem burying him since AE is relaxing in his plot....102 years is more than a good run RIP (did they fold him into the coffin?)
My house always had the latest issue of MAD (and usually Cracked) when I was growing up -- and I wasn't the one who bought them. My mother was a huge fan! The fold-out always amazed me. How he could come up with the concept, first of all... then arrange it and make it work, it was like magic.
She also had books of Spy vs Spy (and another by Antonio Prohias), a couple of Snappy Answers, one or two by Don Martin, and several Dave Berg Looks At.
Between those and the Monty Python books she bought, I ended up a little twisted.
