Air filter options

OK, I don't have the stock filter box for my spitfire mk1 with SU HS2 carbs and I have been trying to find options for air filters. I do have a set of old round plates that came with the car but I can't seem to find filters to fit them. They are 5.25 osd, 4" isd and will take about a 1 to 1.25" thick filter.

You have to be a bit careful on size do to the gas line going from one carb to the other and the clearance of the inner fender. What have you guys been doing and were have you gotten your filters and setups.

A great many of the early Spitfires did NOT come with an "air box"; rather, individual filters simply mounted directly to the carburetors. Works fine either way.

As one example, the filters are readily available from Spitbits (scroll down towards the bottom of the page); at worst, you'll need 2 each of the #1 gasket and #3 filter and 4 each of the #2 bolt.

"Somewhere" I've got a pair of those, bought by mistake on eBay. If I had the faintest idea where, I'd offer them to you

I bought a pair on ebay as well that I thought were right as well but they are are about an inch to big around. If you find them let me know. Also if you have any other ideas that would be great as well. I have been looking at these as well
