Don't know that I've ever "locked" the brakes on an MG....they usually just stop!

I thought the same thing until I had the brakes relined with Porterfield R4S carbon - Kevlar street compound. Found that the brakes would lock up any time I wish. Required noticeably less pedal pressure to do the job also.

I've locked my right rear ... once... hard stop to avoid a mindless lane changer at a light combined with the road curving right and a bit of loose dirt on the inside of the turn did the trick ... made for some nice screeching tire sounds.
Oh yeah, then there was the time where I jammed on the brakes a little late while turning into the parking lot at work. I made some tire noise then too.
hmmmm... come to think of it, I don't think I've ever locked the brakes in a straight line. The only times I can distinctly recall locking my brakes are when I'm hard on the brakes and attempting to turn.
