Hi, do any members paint their exhaust systems with high temperature paint? If so, then what kind of paint is used? Also, what color? And, do any members use any treatment on their exhaust manifolds? For example: Calyx. What are the concours guidelines for painting or treating exhaust systems? Thanks in advance.

We paint all the exhaust systems we install (including stainless) and cars heading for concours judging with high temp. satin black barbecue paint. It bakes on and lasts quite well, simply going to a dull dark charcoal gray.

I had my '65 BJ8 exhaust system (excluding cast manifold) shot blasted and then I applied 2 THIN coats of Flame Control 850 https://www.flamecontrol.com/images/new_2-12-10/HI-HEATS/PD-850.pdf
on it 15 years ago. Still looks good today. In addition, applied Calyx https://calyxmanifold.com/products/products.htm to the cast iron manifold while still installed on the car after wire brushing the surface rust and completly cleaning. It too has held up well. I use an entire different coating system on my race car to help manage the extreme heat.

Sherwin-Williams industrial division can supply you with it, and I used the black.
