AH convertible rear view mirrors

Having just glued the rear view mirror back on my '97 Jeep Cherokee I was wondering if anyone has added this type of mirror to a Healey? The job was simple enough, loosen one screw, lift off the mirror, remove the rectanglular shape "button" and glue it back on the windshield then replace the mirror.

The advantage would be, one you can now see over the convertible top boot, and two now you have a "day/night" functioning mirror.

If anyone has done this, what kind did you use???

I use a mirror with a suction cup that comes off the times I at shows or when the top is up. Put it any where until you find the sweet spot. Don't get one with a steep curve or flat mirror. You need a wide angle. I saw this on Norman Nock's Healey many years ago.

Guys

Over this side of the pond you can buy a pillar for the mirror in stainless steel that is much longer than the standard and you can easily clear the collapsed hood at the rear.

Right you are Bob, and here's a photo of that replacement pillar in my BJ8.

Thanks Roger, for the information on the mirror riser. I'm in the process of ordering the part now. As for the question on the exchange rate, From the AH spares website I just clicked on the "show in US dollars" all prices. The price of part #MRS116, "mirror riser" is $46 which I believe includes postage.

Glad to be of help Johnny.
Don't be surprised to see a postage charge. Mine was $6.50 to California.
Here's looking at you...
Roger
