Good day all. I have to apologize for not being more attentive to the BCF.
I do have a question concerning the AH BJ7 I'm restoring. Does the curved windshield center bracket go on top of the dash pad, or underneath it? I have seen both on various models with curved windshields. Also, what type of screw goes into the bracket to the nut below. Is it chrome plated?
I'm leaning on leaving the bracket on top of the dash pad for two reasons. One, the dash pad has a hole in it for the screw to pass through. And two, the bracket is chrome plated as if to be seen and match the WS surround.
What are your thoughts?
Okay, thanks Lou S. from St. Louis he says to use a "well-nut" made of rubber with a nut inside installed in the hole furnished, and then slide the bracket UNDER the dash pad and secure with a 10X32 phillips screw.

Not to belabor the point, but if you have a copy of "The Healey Book" by Bill Emerson, on pages 179 and very clearly on page 182 these two photos clearly show the bracket on top of the dash pad. Both of the cars were BJ8 models.
