Should the back of the seats tilt forward or the bottom of the seat lift out or? Do you take the entire seat out?
 
Jack - the car has some some "modifications". Do you have original seats?

It is a `1977 with original seats, although leather interior. Not a mark on it.

Only mods that I can tell support the V6 engine and auto tranny.

Not exactly sure what you're asking, but the seat backs are hinged - release lever on the outboard side. To remove them, there are four studs that protrude through the floor; seats and runners come out as a unit.
 
Mickey, I thank you. you hit it. Question was just as you answered. I need all the room I can get to get my left leg in. Great room once inside. Had a knee replacement and lost about 5% motion. Just want to make sure seat is all the way back on drivers side. If not I will get my big hammer and move it, LoL.

Does seat bottom then lift out? Woops guess I need to read all the words.
 
Rails are bolted to floor and there are a mating set of rails on the seats. Seat back is hinged.
 
Thank you, that is what I thought after looking at the moss parts book. It looks like I can get a good inch further back with the drivers side, will see.
 
Should be enough room for you, Jack. SIx foot three guys can sit comfortably. It may be an issue for you to get in and out though. Look into having the guys doing the work see if the seat rails could be moved rearward a bit with extensions on the front and a couple more holes drilled in 'em... but I think it should be okay as is. You'll have to try it out as it is, to determine if it needs modifying.
