Aftermarket fuel pump

Recently replaced my fuel tank because of problems with blocked lines. Got everything connected up, turned the key on, and all I get is a continuous clicking from the pump and no fuel at the filter.
The pump on here is an aftermarket pump (plastic body, electronic) with which I've been having no problems. Could I have maybe mixed up the fuel pump connections? There are two arrows on the inlet and outlet but I don't know which one is which (not marked).

If fuel isn't being pumped out of the pump onto the ground right at it with the line to the car (not tank) disconnected, you might try swapping the lines to the tank before you hook it to the car lines

Pull the lines off and (after PLUGGING the tank one!) turn it on... a finger over the "suck" side will be a dead giveaway. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

EDIT: Or take the filler cap off and listen for evidence of "bubbles".

Aw, Doc, you guys in FL are just worried about pumping a little gas on the ground....hehehehe

Thats 'cause it'll go straight into the ground water if they have any. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
