TR2/3/3A Aftermarket Distributor Points and Terminal Bush leads?

Here are some pictures of the new aftermarket distributor parts I received. I ordered Lucas but got these instead. 100_2093.jpg You can see the difference of the end pieces.100_2095.jpg Bush terminal end pieces. If you look at the end of the "old terminal" lead you can see where the wire insulation failed.
The problem is when everything is installed the end pieces( what are they called?) are touching the plate hold down screw???? Would that not ground out the points? Something is not right? How much space is there normally on a good set of points between the end terminals and the hold down screw?

Also I've managed to drop the the plate screw lock washer down into the distributor internals %$&^*@ Any advice on getting that out. Going to have to pull it I suppose.

Not exactly sure what you're describing but maybe this helps...

A magnet or even a magnetized thin screwdriver might be able to fish it out. The distributor body is not ferrous so there is a good chance that might work though you may need to remove the base plate to get at it. Otherwise, you can just pull the distributor and shake it out.
