AERO SCREENS

I actually do have a couple pictures of them from the book "Essential TR TR2-TR8." (You can buy it on Ebay, Amazon, Borders for about $10.)

They look nothing like the Brooklands screens. They are much wider and larger and curved. I'll try to scan a pic if you'd like and email it to you.

SAM: THANKS FOR THE REPLY, THE INFORMATION I HAVE SO FAR IS THAT THEY ARE SIMILAR TO THE MODERN BROOKLANDS BUT TALLER. I DON'T THINK THAT THEY COULD BE CURVED AS THEY FIT BEHIND THE WIND SCREEN. I HAVE SEEN A PICTURE IN BRITISH MOTORING
(MOSS MAGAZINE) VOLUME 20 #1 SPRING 2001 OF A CAR IN SAN DIEGO AND THEY LOOK CORRECT. BUT I WOULD LOVE TO GET A CLOSE UP. BRIAN

Just thought I'd pass this along to you, an internet protocal rule - using caps lock for a message generally indicates anger, not saying that you were, but it's considered polite to write all messages (e-mail, message board posts, etc...) in small caps for messages.

Trust me, the original aero screens as provided by Triumph for the TR2 are very different than Brooklands accessory screens...and actually to quote from "The Original Triumph TR2/3/3A"

"Aero Screens: The 'works' type bolted directly to pre-drilled holes in the scuttle-- these holes were deleted from TS32833. Part number 700896. They had a larger glass area than the type of aeroscreen commonly supplied today."

When you see the pix, you'll understand the description. It is common to use Brooklands or some of the other vintage aftermarket (Amco?) screens, but these are different than Triumph's original equipment.
