I'm Planning to do a pretty much totalt restore of my 88 v12 xjs, I know it's going to take some cash! I was wondering if anyone up here in the long island, ny area would have referalls of reliable shops to get alot of the work done, i know it'll take me 10 years if i did all the work myself. And i don't really have the resources to do it myself.

The car really does need the engine rebiult, thought it does run. The body has typicall jaguar rust. and the interior needs complete restoration. Thanks for the help! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Why not take a fraction of the money you're about to spend and buy a better car, but be sure to get some history on it first? If you can find the shop that works on it, give them a call. Most shops will tell you the truth. I recently had the opportunity to buy a drop-dead beautiful XJS conv. for under $10K. and I knew it's history from new. There are good buys out there, you have to look around a bit.
