Advice, has anyone done this

I am looking at one of my next projects with the 70 GT6. We have a new tub and plan to put it on the old frame. Of course the battery box is gone.

So I was thinking since I was going to need to fix this I really had 3 options.

1. Weld a new box in

2. Weld a plate over the hole, find a low profile car battery and strap this down and then never have the issue again of the battery box, hose and all that stuff.

3. Weld a plate over the hole, move the battery to the trunk area.

So has any one done any of these options?
Do you know of a low profile battery that would work?
What issues could I have with moving it to the back?

Do you have any other advice, which I am sure you guys will be happy to give.

I'd say #1, but I'm a glutton for punishment. Then again I have 5 cars all undergoing a slow restoration because of it, so not sure you should take any advise from me!

The only replacement I could find was fiberglass so I just cut a new bottom and sealed it in with some stuff called Metalset A4 from Smooth-on. I also replaced the drain using the same stuff. I am after driving and not total restoration. The battery in the rear sounds interesting. If you find a nice place for it , let know.
