Advice for looking at a 79 Midget 1500

Seems expensive or is it just me?

Yup, it is overpriced... but price is always negotiable. If the car is not full of bondo, and it is truely a low mileage car, then it is worth a look.

I guess, according to NADA Classic Car Guide the price is about right (without factory OD and Hardtop) so there's room to knock him down to $4k I would say.

Think I would go have a serious discussion with him concerning rust and such and do as Tony does. Put a price and a phone number on a card and leave it with him. And I should think 4K is high. From time to time I see realy nice examples for under 6K on ebay and around.
