Adventures In Lawn Care

I have a Sears Craftsman riding mower that for the last couple of years has been a real pain. In less than two years I have rebuilt the carb and fuel pump, replaced the fuel line and filter, repaired the electrical system, replaced the battery, replaced three deck belts and one deck idler pulley, replaced both blades and had the starter rebuilt.

Yesterday the blasted thing really tried to do me in. I started my yard mowing uneventfully till I came to the top of a slope in the front of the yard. As I started to make a turn to go down the slope beside a deep ditch my steering failed. I immediately tried to jam on the brakes only to have them fail also. Luckily there was a power pole at at the end of the ditch for me to crash into. The plastic grill in the front of the mower was heavily damaged but thank God I wasn't. I now have a long parts list in front of me to order from Sears. You just think you problems with your LBC!!!!

Sounds like a plot line for a Stephen King horror story... and a lawn mower has sooo much more chew-things-up-and-spit-them-out potential than a Cujo or a Christine.....

"Lawn care"?!?!

I use a machete for my "lawn care" needs. No gas necessary.

...I *did* spring for a couple small signs tho: "CAUTION: SNAKES!"

With your luck I would avoid weed-eaters, chainsaws, and probably even cheaply made coffee presses.

You kinda also sound like an advertisement for John Deere!

Tom,

He needs to fix his mower, he doesn't need a date!!!
