Adjustment of XJ6 Door Locks with Keikert Solenoid

Front Passenger door locks, but does not unlock with solenoid. There is limited travel adjustment for solenoid fore and aft, but it does not seem to affect the problem.

I got a replacement from Jag Heaven, but the problem persists. XKs Unlimited told me that the solenoids are no longer available.

Any way to test the solenoid?

Are front and rear solenoids interchangeable?

To the best of my recollection all the solenoids are the same but mounted flopped.

Lube all the lock mechanism inside the door. Usually caused by crusty door mechanisms. The solonoid only develops so much force, and the sticky operating parts in the door resist movement. I use Kroil for this, but any good penetrant should work.

I followed Jessebogan's advise and the Kroil did loosten things up. However, working the passenger door lock with the key does not unlock the driver door, although unlocking the doors with the key from the driver door does unlock all doors.

On a series III XJ^ is that normal?

Yes. The only "master" solonoid is the drivers door.

I would like to know how to unlock the truck. The inside switch will not unlock it. The car would not start that's why I tried to get into the truck to charge the battery. How can I open the truck
