In adjusting the rich/lean aspect of the SU HD6 carbs, does a clockwise turn of the adjustment screw enrichen or lean out the mixture?

Clockwise = richer. You can observe this by removing the dome and piston and noting the jet goes downward from the bridge as you turn the screw clockwise.
