Hi all

I´m now installing a new wiring harness.
I read is very convenient to add more fuses to protect each circuit.
At the moment I have added 25A fuse in the red wire in the lightnig swith and another 25A in the blue for the headlamps.

Any other suggestion to where install any other fuses.
 
I've heard it's a good idea to add an inline fuse to the red lead going to the license plate lamp in the rear. It's prone to shorting out leading to a damaged rear lighting harness.
 
I have added fuses to the OD circuit and the fuel pump as well as the lighting circuits already mentioned.
 
Johny I think if I have a fuse in the red wire in ligth swith the rear is already covered.


Shorn, in wich position and wire did you installed the OD and the pump fuses and how many AMPERES each
 
Here is what I did. It is a pretty simple and clean installation. I added a second fuse holder, identical to the original and placed it about 4 inches under the original and to the drivers side (under the OD relay and wire harness). There is a small open space there where it fits nicely. I added a jumper wire (14 gauge) from the hot side of the main fuse box to both terminals on one side of the additional fuse box. Then, I just moved the fuel pump wire to one fused side of the new box and the OD wire to other fused terminal. I think both wires were long enough to fit, although I might have had to add an extension to one of them. I don't remember. I used 2 15 amp fuses (American, not British). I am not sure that 15 amp fuses are the perfect size. I think 10 for the fuel pump would be more than adequate. Mainly this is just to protect against a direct short. Since both the OD and fuel pump circuits end up under the car, they can easily be damaged. This would provide some protection against burning up a significant part of the car's wiring.
