Acquired Another "B" Last Night

Is there some place to get treated for this disease. Was looking through the local shopper here and saw a 77 MGB listed for sale for $1200 and had to call on it. Talked to the owner for a few minutes and the car sounded fairly nice so I ask him about the price. He said the price was $2200 and that there was an error in the listed price. Said he might let it go for $1800. I made arrangements to go take a look see. The car did look pretty good with the exception of rust in the lip of both rear wheel wells at the top just above the tires and it will need new carpet and a new top. A DPO also did some creative wiring with toggle switches in the middle of the dash for lights, wipers, and horn. The car runs and drives good and came with receipts of $6000 worth of work done in the year 2000.
So for the price of $1700 another MGB finds a home.

Tom - Be careful about that rust! Down where you are, rust above the rear wheelwells usually portends rust everywhere!!

But it runs Tony, Tom is on the road again and can now take time with his pride and joy.

"Pride & Joy"? : Jack, surely you are not referring to "The Beast"? I don't know if we have got to the point of calling it that yet.
I really must resist looking at the classifieds. I will be running out of room soon.
Tom

You are only authorized one ea Midget to complete your set, after that Tony you are free as a bird.

Jack, I'll try and attach pictures of the 77

Look trhose doglegs over very closely, Tom...as well as the front edges of the sill bottoms....bet you're gonna find more rust when you get under it....I'd think two or 3 times before handing over that much money for a potential rust bucket...

Looks nice! Those little spots of rust don't do anything to disfigure the overall appeal of the car, in my opinion.

And never noticed this before, but on what side is the hood support usually installed? On my '74 it's on the right side; did they switch at some point?

Looks very nice....You southerners ain't seen rust until you've seen Canadian B's....Some guys up here would die to have a car with that little rust!
All the hood supports I've seen have been on the right.

There was a period when they were on the left (in the way!)...my '74-1/2 GT has it there.

Not too bad at all Tom, with your body and painting skills it will look like new in no time.

Oh me, a clock. That is far down on my list I am afraid.

WHOO!! He certainly wasn't passing on any savings in the parts he installed - they must've been sold to her at full retail or premium!! & I'm guessing he charged in excess of $50 per hour for labor (which for quality work isn't really all that high)

Oh me, so pleased I can do my own work. That's a bunch of money.
