i recently installed an accel super coil to replace my lucas unit. this is a big coil and i am not sure what the voltage is on it. has anybody put one of these on their car? i didnt notice any change in performance. should i stick with original lucas or am i doing something wrong? i haven't changed the gap on my plugs yet.
 
You always gotta check that stuff first, or else it is like racing a Honda!! Do you have points, Petronix or Crane ignition?? So much of this kind of stuff is a total waste of money!!

ive got the factory lucas "opus" electronic ignition. i have been considering upgrading to a crane xr700 electronic
 
U probaly should have used the Lucas hi performance coil!! Sorry, I can't think of the right name right now!! Anyway, it is gold in color!!
 
i got the accel for 5 bucks used and figured it would beat a 30 year old lucas unit
