I love that photo! An endless sea of Bugeyes. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Kind of reminds me of a swarm of locusts. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Too cool.

Is it just me or do they have canvis tops and not vinyl.

Were they an option? I thought they came with bumpers and owners took them off. Mine won't go back on. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I'm pretty sure bumpers were standard! Yep Jack they do look like canvas tops don't they (the vinyl tops are shinier.)! They all have the canvas side curtains too so that must be an earlier manufacturing run!! They must also all be export models as the bumpers are "wrapped" to protect the chrome and none have the hubcaps installed. Try as I might, I cannot tell from the pic. if they are LHD or RHD.

I seem to remember seeing that photo in one of my Sprite books, but can't remember which one now.

The bumpers were optional, but I'm pretty sure that all US bound cars had them. The tach and heater were optional as well.

Great picture! Where did you find it? Any idea of the date (beyond the obvious, I mean...)

No clue on the date, other than the obvious (obviously!). I found this one night while surfing the internet for pictures, etc. I can't remember exactly where though.....I just saved a few pictures and thought others might enjoy this one (I know I love this pic!). /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Photoshop - guys. I believe I've seen this pic before and described as such.

I have a 2 page (front-photo/rear-specs) Bugeye brochure on my web site under the documentation link; it is dated 9/59. It refers to rear overriders in the "Bodywork" section of the specs but does not mention the front bumper. The same section references the "...P.V.C. coated fabric top...".

The print is hard to read because of the size, but you can save the scanned image to a file and open it with any software that has a magnify feature; I use Photoshop Elements.

Here's what it looks like:

Well, that little brochure states quite a bit. 48 hp and it even came with a 12 month warranty!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
