I have been having problems with my clutch pedal hanging up on the bar where it pivots. Part of the problem is due to some nerve problems in my legs, whatever, it made the pedal difficult to release smoothly to feather the clutch. The result was some embarrasingly jerking starts.
I had tried different ways to lube the shaft but could not get it to work well and if it did, not for long.
I always felt that grease would be the best but how to get it in there without taking the pedal group out.
Well, last night I had an idea and today I tried it with success.
I purchased an adapter for my grease gun, one with a taper tip. Then drilled an i/8" hole in the pivot tube and used a larger drill to taper the hole. That made a way to seal the new tip and allow the grease to flow inside the tube. It worked great!!
