OK I had never heard from him either - but invented Transformers and Johnny Lightning Toy cars.

And survived 5 concentration camps in Poland during the war

And fed thousands in Israel

And established a soup kitchen in Queens and built an apartment in NYC for those in need.

Seems quite a life

My dad knew Henry very well. He (my dad) was in the plastics molding business and would manufacture Henry’s creations for Deluxe and Topper Toys.
Henry was a mensch. RIP.

A Mensch - in the truest and deepest meaning of that word.

El malei rachamim.

Was this before or after the war (or both)?
My dad met Henry after the war. I can remember meeting him once as a kid in my dad's office.
I must say I was surprised to read his obit as I thought he had passed away a long time ago.

Sounds like he was a pretty remarkable guy! 98 years is a pretty good run! RIP!

Wish I'd paid more attention to the advice in "The Graduate"... (y)

Here's one of the Johnny Lightning Toy cars that I have.
